Why choose quartz

The benefits of a quartz worktop

At Mason Quartz, we consider that quartz is the best material for worktops, both in the home setting or in the retail commercial space.  Quartz offers style, durability, low maintenance and is affodable for most budgets. Harder than granite, quartz is a manufactured stone made with 93% natural quartz mineral, which is one of the most abundant materials on our earth and mixed with high tech polymers, resins and pigments to create a perfect surface that will last you a lifetime.

Quartz is an engineered stone and the manufacturing process allows a much wider range of colors than you will find in natural stones such as granite or marble. The appearance of the finished engineered stone is rich, even luxurious. The finish has a depth that cannot be produced with other solid surface materials.

Like other hard surface countertop materials, quartz is non-porous so it resists staining much better than granite and marble. It stands up to juice, oil, wine, tomato, coffee and other sources of stains in the kitchen. For cleanliness, a non-porous surface means that it will not harbor bacteria or viruses. You can always be confident that you are getting your quartz countertop absolutely clean, and that is a great benefit in both the kitchen and the bathroom.

Another important quality is that Quartz has the same durability as concrete and granite, but is quite a bit more forgiving, so it does not chip or crack as easily. It does not have the same hardness in the feel that some people find unpleasant.

Quartz is one of the most durable stones in the world and is extremely low maintenance. It is heat and stain resistant. These qualities make it a popular choice for modern kitchens and floors and it can give any room a modern, sleek and smooth finish.

Here at Mason Quartz we can provide you with a very varied palate of plain, mirror flecked. marble effect, granite effect and mottled quartz. We offer a 25 Years Limited Warranty and if your slab has been fitted by one of our approved companies you can register your Mason Quartz slab here.

Quartz is resistant to heat, scratches and stains, however use of trivets or hot pads is recommended for placing roasting pans or hot saucepans on. Also use a cutting board for chopping, cutting and slicing. Wipe all spills immediately. Like most products, extreme or excessive exposure may change the surface.

Here is a table to provide some comparison between the various attributes of quartz, granite, laminate and other solid surface materials.
